Yoga Class
Even breathing seems tough,
as I tighten my core.
The class is becoming rough,
but I secretly beg for more.
The room is filled with sweat and heat,
100 degrees all around me.
I attempt to balance on my feet,
but I’m shaking, can’t you see?
I want to quit,
“Just give up now,” I say.
This laziness is what I must kick,
and today will be the day.
The poses are growing hard,
a few others start to fall.
I refuse to put up my guard,
and insist on standing tall.
Though it may seem like much,
This is the average day at class.
