The Bridge
The bricked, brown sickles layer on top of one another as glue smooths across the perfect glass
And little hands, slender and impressive as crystals, entwine as twigs round a tree trunk;
Lips, plump and thick, come together under a grinning sun, pink and glistening as their
Tongues ice skate around their gold-shaped teeth, in a red skateboard of colour;
And the stitch-sewn shoes of the lovers shift like footfalls; and exit together off the brown bridge.
