Sharpie
Words are like sharpie
Thick, ugly,
Black, and permanent,
After years of scrubbing away
They start to fade
But part of them always stay.
You have to live with the mistakes,
You make,
And try to fix it
With what you say and do,
Cause words can be ugly
More permanent,
than you might think .
All in such a short time
Cutting a deep whole
Inside our minds
And then you use the words,
I am sorry ,
But your messing with a sharpie.

I wrote this poem about hurtful words. I was inspired by someone saying what if every word you ever said appeared on your body in sharpie. I was 14 at the time I wrote this and I really felt like the piece spoke to me.
