I Am From Adventure And Contingency
I am from the miles and miles of clouds and open skies,
the smell of almonds and green tea filling my nose.
I am alone on this part of the journey, but a familiar voice comes over the intercom telling me to strap in.
I am from the unknown streets and hidden trails,
discovery bouncing in my mind
replacing mundane scents with dashi, rice and kimchi.
I am from the peaks and valleys of snow capped mountains,
surfing on a board.
I am from the back country, as well as the city.
I am from the 2 AM lights reflecting off the glass walls of high rises,
wandering miles, block by block,
I am from the experience.
I am from the spooling turbo anxiously waiting the sputter.
That turbo lost me my license.
I am from the JDM, as well as the Euro.
I am from the mountain tops.
I am from first gear to third gear in 6.1 seconds.
I am from adventure and contingency.
