half of my family lays overseas.

From my religious beliefs to my culture of blue and white,

my Greek heritage assembles who I am

To travel overseas expands my mind,

Souvlaki, Gyro and baklava is how I’m defined. 

Greece isn’t just crystal clear water, breathtaking beaches and waterfalls

ancient homes cluster on mountain tops with children playing ball.

Standing in the pews Sunday after Sunday,

I ask, “What does this mean?” and “Is it time to pray?”

I read the little brown books attempting to translate,

in hopes to learn about my own faith.
