C o l l i s o n
I felt it.
That night my dreams were diseased
With flashes of metal and red traffic signs.
Then, I couldn’t tell the shape of the stormcloud.
But I felt it.
I felt the brakes compress, like lungs crushed by a boulder.
I felt the shudder of the engine spiral into a place
Outside of control; outside of care.
I felt the way you closed your eyes.
Wishing for another sunset.
Wishing for your sister, wondering if you will meet,
Finally.
I felt it.
I felt it all.
