Black Beast
It is in the afternoon a black silhouette hovers over me, waiting for me
to settle down so it can pounce on my chest
for a long nap. But quickly woken up by the move of my body
It’s soft but yet upset cries as I walk off leaving the warm hug.
Night time comes the sun is down and the moon is up.
The beast is awake stalking
everything that moves. Do not dare try to trap it in a room.
The beast will give off a mighty roar until the barricade
opens. It lurks around in the dark, hiding in shadows
daring its next victim to walk across its path
for it to strike.
Morning comes, finally the beast sleeps.
The beast sleeps in the warm light that shoots through the window
calm and soft. Happy and enjoyed as it dreams
dance around in its head the beast is tamed at last.
