The Coalport Doll
The Coalport Doll
The little porcelain doll, sat on the mantle
piece in the living room hall.
Her dress so striped and blue,
Holding a small yellow champagne glass
was all she could do .
A slight smile on her face full of Grace,
As her silky blonde hair rested on her
shoulders.
The glossy texture of her skin tone ,
Oh! what a beautiful chin bone!!
Shined as the sun dawned upon her.
A baby peach rose poked in her big broad
brimmed hat , made her look elegant .
As a mini blue bow wrapped around her
waist , made her look benevolent.
I looked in her deep, cobalt - blue eyes .
I was wonderous wise, they could tell it all.
The Coal Port doll was dressed for the
Royal Derby Race , I hope she can keep
upto the pace...........

Seeing my mother's priced porcelain collection everyday . I thought I wanted to do justice to them by writing a poem about one of them . I am truly proud to inherit them one day !!!!
