Your True Colors
What I remember about that day
Is your voice pounding in my head
The harsh yelling from ear to ear
And listening to your cruel remarks
Saying you’d wish she had the abortion
Screaming you’d regretted keeping me
Shouting that you stopped loving me
Nothing about what I did wrong to make you say this
Nothing about my brother watching from the backseat

I wrote this about my dad. The things he said that day never leave my head. So, I thought writing about it might make things better. It did.
