Grandmother
While you might not be there
I still feel you with me
That does not mean touch
Nor does it mean see or hear
Grandmother…
You are here with me
Everyday I can feel your warm hold
Your smell of cigarette
Lasts forever in my nose
Grandmother…
I know you see me
Doing who-knows-what
Going who-knows-where
Doing the things we loved most
Grandmother…
Dear, sweet grandmother…
I miss you most.

This poem was inspired by me late grandmother who past away when I was young. She was my best friend and the person who was closest to me. Her death impacted my life so much that I am still grieving today.
In loving memory of Billie Norman.
