one of the best feelings
one of the best feelings
you can get
is the feeling
of getting lost
in
a
book.
totally immersed in
the book’s world
at Hogwarts
at Forks in Washington
at the Capitol at Panem
the smell
of books
the beautiful sound
of flipping pages
the crackle
of the spine
of a new book
when being opened
the sound
of everything around you
disappearing
one of the best feelings
is when i start to read
when i open the book
a portal opens
to the book’s world
and i obey and walk in
sometimes i run
sometimes i go slowly
but i always get there
to a completely different universe
where i would never be able to
explore
without the book
everything around me
disappears
the chatter of other people
any sounds
my sight
is blurred
the only thing i can see
is the book
and its beautiful words
the chapters
the mysteries
as i try to decipher
what the author
is trying to say
as i understand
what the message
of the book is
the people
in the book
are my best friends
people who i feel like
i’ve known my whole life
i know their life story
and they know mine
