Day of The Equinox
Things are changing
I can see it in the colors of the leaves
And the way the sky tilts its head to look at me
I can feel it in the breath of summer
That has just vanished from my lungs
No sooner did the clock strike midnight
Than the leaves began to fall
On the equinox of deadly minds
At the end of a year too tired to go on
No sooner had I seen my last
Fair day of summer’s youth
Than the air began to chill
And the last sun kissed petal of a lonely flower
Did break and hit the ground
Things are truly changing
This day has promised me
Things are truly changing
Whispered the equinox to me
