Control
In an ever-changing world,
tumultuous and confusing.
Where nothing adds up and everything sinks down,
they drift by like clouds longing.
They feel lost among the crowds.
lost within themselves
tumbling through time
They long for something.
They have none of it so they seize it where they can,
trying to center themselves when nothing seems to go their way.
In a period of in-between,
tortuous and shifting.
Where nothing seems to stay the same,
they try to find what they are lacking.
They run amuck
and run aground
and run around in circles
They drop behind
And drop below
And drop beneath the shadows
Until
Somehow, somewhere, someway, sometime,
they finally find what they try so hard to mime.
