5 years
5 years.
By: Rachael Miller.
Today, I sat staring at my computer
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”
Everyone was typing rapidly
But I couldn’t have been more lost
5 years?
My future?
5 days a week, 8 hours a day
I have to study
I have to show up on time
I have to meet unrealistic deadlines
I have to meet unrealistic standards set by adults and kids alike
School. Future. Life.
What does it all mean?
School is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day
But that isn’t enough, is it?
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”
I can’t answer that question
Because how can I think about the next 5 years
When getting through today is all I can focus on.

This is not my first poem ever written, but it's one of my favorites. So I'd like to share it with you all!
