He Could Be Gone
Without you I lose half of myself.
My light, my joy,
gone.
Running away from me so fast
I could never catch him.
You are the bridge that connects me
with the one I love
more than anything.
And if you were not here
what would I do?
He supplies me with buckets
of amusement and bliss.
Without your strong hold
he would not be here beside me.
I am indebted to you.
So,
I thank you for
taking all the strain and stress.
For putting up with
the ups and downs.
Your care is everything to me.
I promise he doesn’t mean to burden you.
To stretch your limits.
If only he could understand
what you do for him.
He, too, would thank you.
I could not live without him.
He is the sweetest, silliest, soft-hearted
puppy I know. And without you,
his strong, dependent leash,
he could be gone.
