Rest
Your lifeless body rests in front of me,
Your wide open eyes stare right into my soul.
Your smile, lifelike but empty , shines with tiny bony pearls.
The dense scarlet blood floods the cobblestone road.
I dreaded this day but now a smile hides in my lips.
The police lights shine over the corner,
So I take your body over my shoulder and I run.
The sun turns off and the little flickering candle is the new light in your eyes.
Eyes that will be replaced and the sockets filled with cotton.
The earth receives new flesh and I can finally rest.
