That Dreary Day
It was never supposed to
End
Like this.
You
Dying
On the cold
Hostital Bed.
You
Leaving
Us on this
Big round earth...
Alone.
You always
Held
On to what God
Gave
You but,
On January 1st you
Gave
it all away.
Even though it
Wasn't
Your fault
We still
Feel
The agonizing
Pain.
You had
Left
Us all
Alone.
Even as a family
We could
Bearly
Hold
On.
As we
Walked
Into the church I
Cried.
When they
Locked
The Casket
No one could take it.
As we
Left
Woodland
I wanted to scream
"Don't let him
Go
I want him to
Stay with me"
That night as I
Go
To Bed I
Feel
The warmth
of your touch.
You
Touch
My hand then
Give
Me a kiss
and
Whisper
"Everything
Is all right"
You
Hold
My hand
Through
The night
To let me
Know
You will always
Be there.
