This free-verse “poem” was intended to be a comedic explanation of how the teenage mind often works. Adolescents are often categorized as “moody,” and “uncompromising,” or sometimes quick to give up. This work demonstrates those traits in the form of a “self-help guide” that pretty accurately (in my opinion) explains the thought-process of a teen. Lately, I’ve been trying to lighten the mood of the Winter Collection, which has resulted in the occasional satire-poem. Themes of darkness, and death come too easily to me, and writing things that are lighter, or comedic is a challenge.
