The Decaying Branch
Secrets are a decaying branch,
tearing the trunk with flimsy fingers,
until finally struck down.
Floating on the wind’s shaky exhales,
it kisses the soil
and rocks the Earth.
The tree’s blind eye turns back,
as everything hidden stretches its wings,
and
heaves the blue jays
from thorned nests in churning shadows
to the kind light in an unblemished sky
