I.L.I.K.E.Y.O.U.
Words cannot describe the way one feels,
When falling head over heels,
Their mind-- spinning its wheels,
While all that’s left of reality peels,
I stare into your deep, brown eyes,
I feel as though they had been disguised,
For now, I see what I’ve never realized,
The truth behind all that I need inside,
There’s a word that always strikes a certain chord,
It’s a word to be said, from one’s very core,
But saying it anytime soon, would just be a chore,
Because it doesn’t hold enough meaning to me anymore,
Another word starts with an L, and ends with an E,
And the letters seem to fit together flawlessly,
Exactly how I picture it would be with you and me,
This word does not, however, have an O, or a V,
I is to L, just as I is to K and then unto E,
And Y, O, and U, go together effortlessly,
These are the words I dare to say to thee,
And the same words that I wish you’d say back to me.
