I Remember
I remember
when you sung me to sleep
because you knew that pain hurts the most when its alone
I remember
when the moon rose up, just high enough
so that i could see your eyes behind the night owls sheet
I remember
when I looked at that sheet and saw King's valley
and you reminded me there were stars
And I still remember
when i saw the fire behind the ice for the first time
in your eyes
because you cared
I remember
when there was a piece missing
and you looked everywhere to find it
and you did
I remember
when that shard of glass broken could not be fixed
and somehow in your hands it became whole
I remember
when the waves rolled out
and hope washed in, in your arms
And I still remember
the feel of your touch
as the sand gently caressed the tips of my toes
