That’s life,
C’est la vie,
My friend,
Mon amie.
As your heart cracks in two
And dissolves in the city smog
And what’s left of the mascara
Running down your pallid cheeks.
You sit down on the sidewalk,
Rock back and forth on your heels,
Thinking no one sees behind you tears,

Your transparent tragedy,
