Melted Heart

His melted heart seeps through my fingers,
As I trace my way through the sky.
Getting closer and closer to help,
But only further away from the wounded.
Whispered voices breeze through my sensitive ears.
Overtaken by goosebumps, my breath quickens.
Slurred footsteps get shorter over time.
The hot dirt kicks into my swollen eyes.
Blurring my vision.
But it’s too late.
His heart is gone.
