Period 6/7
It was that time again
Time for you to walk with me
My eyes squint in search for your presence
And my mouth turns upward as you approach
I slam the teal metal locker and take a breath
Your brown eyes and sincere expression bring color to my cheeks
I look up
You smile down
You are much taller than me
I wonder if you notice my eagerness
We start to stride towards class as
Other faces in the hall become blurred
I am staring at yours
I notice the speckled freckles that adorn your cheekbones
And then I am staring at your eyes once more
Eyes filled with something
Something that emits goodness
And it makes my stomach warm
Two minutes
And then it’s over
Two minutes
Those are the best minutes of my day
