Fear.
Fear, a stop in quaking heart,
a sudden understanding,
a tear, a single tear of lifeless rage,
rises over horizons edge,
and breaches air to plummet,
across barren wastes of burning skin,
heated so, by the malignant forces held within,
gasps of breath escape and are trapped,
in anger and despair,
as blood oozes from a wound,
and winds down through my hair,
is it real, I cannot know,
for pain is all but gone,
but the soul, just like snow,
I find, is cold and will not bond,
that is the cause of emotion, fear,
for it attracts death, like a magnet,
and silence may be all we hear.
