Silhouette of an Idol
I wonder what you're up to,
It's been several years now.
I'm sure you don't remember
but I can still recall exactly
the way we bumped into each
other in the aisle, between
rows of plastic red chairs
(there to honor us and others,
but it was you I felt were most
deserving of such honors).
I listened to you, enraptured,
idolizing your writing
like you were a messiah.
