The rain drips purple
to my ash smeared lips
licking up the fire
as I swallow the sun
See me
in the frosted footprints
you left behind
as your blurred shadow
melts to the edge
of oblivion
and teeters there
a wind blown stripe
dusting the earth's
bloodstained fingertips
I fall
a crumpled shell
of dragon eggs
and broken wings
watching the sky
dip low
painting my skin
and grinding my bones
to the dust
where you belong
