Whispers in the Night
We sat and talked dark whispers in the night
You held my hand and,
Walked me home from our eventful evening
I swore you loved me
When we walked in the night
The wind could tell you,
The moon as my witness!
You loved me
At my house you’d hold me tight
Bid me good-bye and kissed my forehead
The night-time owl saw you
You can’t tell me you felt nothing
The sleepy trees saw you
When you turned and smiled at me
It was beautiful,
Us together in the night
So can I ask you one thing?
Why are you with someone else?
Why are you walking with her in the night?
Why do you sit and smile
Laugh and giggle with her?
Why do you love her?
When I still recall us sharing whispers in the night.
