The Girl I once Knew
I hank back the days she cried on my shoulders;
The days of innocence.
Scared of ghosts she was my friend;
who cried on my shoulders.
Now I think of it and lament,
Where is my friend?
She is not the one who smokes and drinks;
Not the one who abuses me;
She was the one who cried on my shoulders;
Out of pure innocence.
Where is my friend I wonder,
Hidden beneath that odious girl?
She is somewhere,that I know;
That zany girl I once knew;
Hope she finds herself soon.
Then again she can cry on my shoulders,for she
will be the girl I knew.
