Revolt of the Sneakers
Sometimes,
It’s the people who won’t stop running,
Who forget how to use their feet,
Under the illusion that maybe,
They can outrun their fears,
They don’t realize the only thing pushing them forward,
Is the fear they are trying to escape,
Sometimes,
It catches up to them,
And they slow down,
Only to realize,
They can’t speed up again,
Sometimes,
Their feet become old and weary,
Like neglected running shoes,
And they choose to develop amnesia,
And resist,
Tired of running in circles,
Because they were told to.
