If you could only see
behind the makeup and the clothes,
past all the lies and the deceit
behind all that shows.

If you could only see
the words I never said
the actions I almost took
and the life I would have led.

If you could only see
that it’s killing me inside
that with it all I’m insecure
with no idea when to hide.

If you could only see
the mistakes I want to right
the things that I have learned
to make everything alright.

If you could only see
the me that I see
