Blue Eyes
Look not once, but twice
At this depression
And sorrow
It takes a human form
A young girl
Her features clear
Ask yourself this question,
What is the first thing you notice about her?
Her umber brown hair
That sways gently against the wind
Strands falling silently?
Her light pink lips
That have cursed others
In their past
That have said "I'm sorry,"
Or "I love you,"
A dozen times?
Her pale completion
Skin deprived of sun?
Her scars
That give proof to her pain?
Or is it her blue eyes
That you notice?
Those blue eyes that cry tears
For only you
