growing up
Growing up is what we have to do
Go to school get married have kids
That’s what we are taught
That is what we strive for
But what about the people who can’t
The people who can’t be loved
The people who aren’t smart
They don’t make it
People think they are different
They never “grow up”
But what is growing up really?
Is it getting a degree?
Is it finding the one before we are 30?
Is it having a family with a few kids before 40?
NO
Growing up
Is learning to accept things
Knowing some people will never change but loving them
Learning that we aren’t perfect
Learning some things aren’t are our fault
Why don’t they teach us that?
They tell us be good and listen
But why can’t we speak?
Speak what we feel
Say what we think is right and what is wrong
Growing up we all have to do it
But what does growing up really mean?
