It is our choices that show who we truly are....far more than our abilities.<br /> - Albus Dumbledore

While I am young
I search the world
To learn my lifelong lessons

While I am young
I pray the wind to breze me on my way.
To talk me in and out of trouble
To help me day to day

As i grow old I learn to love
To live a finished life
To live a beautiful existence
Without the pain and strife

As I grow old I stretch my limits
I stretch my heartstrings too
I stretch so high I reach the heavens.
I can touch the moon.

When I am old I see the world
I see the land so different
I see my world is changing
I choose to change with it.

When I am old I pray the wind
To help me till' the day
To lift my life upon the wind
To breeze me on my way.

Exactly, when it is a caterpillar it is learning the ways of life...as the world changes the caterpillar does too. Into a butterfly, then when it grows old it leaves the same way it came ..,by nature.

&quot;Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn&#039;t go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.&quot; ~Robert Fulghum

WOW! I love the imagery in this! Great poem! :)

It's a lovely poem, but (at the risk of sounding stupid) why is it called 'Butterfly'? Is it about a butterfly? It's just, as my 'name' suggests, butterflies are my personal symbol of luck and that's why I was attracted towards reading this piece...

This is certainly one of my favorites: &quot;I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes.&quot; -2 Samuel 6:22

I rather enjoyed this. There were some small typos/grammatical errors, but overall I really enjoyed this piece. Great job!
