Alarm Clocks: The Most Hated Invention
Sleep.
The most peaceful part of one’s day.
The feeling of a good night’s rest
to start a new day.
Saturday, Sunday-
Sleep all day.
But, there always comes Monday.
No noise is nastier or more dreaded.
The sound of bees buzzing in your ear
or nails on a chalkboard.
The Monday morning alarm.
You see darkness and are lethargic.
Every part of you wants to hit snooze,
you know today you will feel blue.
But,
you find the strength to lift those
limbs out of bed.
Slowly getting ready for the day ahead.
Until...
Saturday.
