Walking through the Darkness
Walking through the darkness,
The sky as black as coal.
The still and eerie silence
Slowly penetrates my soul.
I take in the scene around me;
All life has taken flight.
My eyes cannot discern anything
From the darkness of the night.
I stumble through the dismal field,
Hardly knowing where to step.
I’m envisioning my savior,
But I haven’t seen them yet.
Shifting feet from left to right,
My hope is slowly dwindling.
The world has no more use for me,
A small and ignorant weakling.
But, if my eyes do deceive me,
The universe ponders my silent plea.
Before my eyes appears a sight,
The world engulfed in brilliant light.
