If a Wish Were Enough
She seethes silently,
She took the beating,
Without a single tear,
Why did she have to be here?
Every night,
She wishes,
For a good life,
But one wish was all she got,
It wore off,
It wasn't enough,
The torment,
Never ends,
She wants to end it,
But doesn't know how,
Screams and yells,
Are kept within,
Her silence is
Just making it worse,
She doesn't,
Know how to talk,
But every night,
She wishes,
I want a new life,
But one wish,
wears of quickly,
It wasn't enough,
Her drunken dad,
Cusses aloud,
It shatters,
Her heart,
He throws his glass,
At her head,
She had only one wish,
To have a better life,
It wasn't enough.
