A Ghost
As a ghost I travel the halls alone
Never talking
Mourning all I've ever lost
With eyes that gaze
To a different world
A world I wish I'd never known
For if I'd never known this world
I wouldn't be sad to find it gone
I wouldn't be drifting through life
Every day
Wishing I could cry
Alone
But I am the girl that never dies
The girl with no knowledge of grief
I am the child of reason and hardship
Emotions are foreign
To children like me
If only, if only
I wish that they were
For if that were true
I could mend
I could stop being broken
Be human once more
Never to roam halls
Again
