Dead Heartbeat
You used to
Illuminate my heart
But then again,
That was before
We fell apart
And believe me
I appreciate
How you still pretend
To comprehend
And the way
You intend
To extend
Your participation
But I can't depend
On determination
cause all I'm left with
Is the frustration
About the things
I thought I could defeat
Things
I'd rather not repeat
So please
Let me retreat
Back to my dead heartbeat
Because at least there
Things can be discreet
Where I can easily
Fall asleep
But eventually
I have to wake up
To my reality
That life
Has no bliss
There's no such thing
As happiness
Because i can hear
The blood
From my wrist
Hiss to me
And insist
To make sure
I really do exist
But I ignore
The impulse
And go back
To my false living
Cause I'm just
Giving more
To that dead heartbeat
Where I can always
Be discreet
And I can easily
Fall asleep..
