Nil Desperandum
ever noticed this about the world,
it is easier to kill than to heal.
Yes! This world is so engulfed,
in unfading mist of darkness
Yet amidst this blackness,
is the faint burning candle.
The faint light of hope,
the hope in that with every fall
comes a choice to make:
there are those who lie,
so desperately waiting to die.
And there are those who cling,
in determination to the charred rope.
With naught but resilient hope,
that it would hold, hold
Nil desperandum! A voice calls,
a voice that sees one through,
the quicksands of this perilous life.
Never despair! A voice begs,
the voice that sows enigmatic joy,
in a heart in the saddest times,
when we behold only death.
Nil desperandum! Never despair!
