Fight within yourself
The hand to hand touch on the web camera.
Doesn't feel the same as his tuoch on my flesh.
The one phone call a day, will never replace his place by my side.
His uniform is the only thing i see him in anymore.
I cross the day out on my calender until he comes home.
This isn't his far, but he continues to fight.
For a cause that's unknow and all he can wonder is why?
Why he no longer fliches at the sound of a gun and why he appreciates the rise of a new sun.
A solider must never show weakness to his enimey.
So is he less of a man because he cries?
Or Should he put the tip of the A.K 47 to his temple and show his bravery.
He prays every night to ask god to forgive him for his sins.
Taking the life of a human should never be in his hands.
But in the eyes of his country that's what they demand.
Reality hauts his dreams, never would he imagen a eight year old boy holding a loaded gun.
Take a life or loses his?
Is he less of a man because he can't kill a kid?
He sleeps with his eyes open and listens to the ground for footsteps.
He gazes at the sky remember the last day he had his little girl in his arms, he held her close while they counted the stars.
He told her when ever she missed him to look up and he would be looking too.
The memories grip on his heart, harder and harder till he holds his chest for mercy.
He feels himself going insane, his finger on the trigger is sending him deranged.
He knows it's not right, but he knows no other way.
A solider must never show weakness, but he cries.
He drops his gun in front of the little boy and is willing to die.
Never will the stars be so far away that they can't be reached.
This isn't his war, but he continues to fight.
For an unknow reason and all he can wonder is why?
