Sober Instead
Wondering, lying in bed,
What would have happened if you were sober instead?
Shooting star strikes the sky
Whisper a wish after closing my eyes.
To spend just one day with you,
A walk in the park, a trip to the zoo.
To have you protect me when I get scared,
A trip to the past, when you actually cared.
I feel so hopelessly alone.
Dear Daddy, I miss you, please come home.
Sixteen now, still in tears.
Tell me, where have you been all these years?
Wondering, lying in bed,
What would have happened if you were sober instead?
