Peace in Your Arms
With you I can be peaceful
I can lay down my shield
I don’t have to worry
Around you I don’t need my mask
I can be free when I’m with you
You just make me so comfortable
Because we know
That we can sit together
And not go too far
We have no plans beyond the present
We just go with what we can get
Those random moments that you get close
The basic placement of your hand
On my shoulder makes me happy
Your simple touch gives me joy
With your arms around me
I’m more alive than ever before
My mind is clear of all the weights I carry
I make no move to push you away
And I never will
The warmth of your body
From your finger tips to your toes
I feel it radiating against me

"The poet ranks far below the painter in the representation of visible things, and far below the musician in that of invisible things. Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?,"Leonardo da Vinci.
