Paper Mache Heart
You live for yourself
Going through the motions everyday
Never stopping to help another
Not caring what they have to tell
And so your world revolves around you
Taking it's sweet time
And you wish to God it would move faster
You waste your life away
While she wonders how much longer she'll have
Wonders if she'll take her life tonight, or tomorrow, or the next
Afraid to live, but more afraid of death
Wondering if it's terrors are worse than those on earth
Hell would be a vacation considering what she's been through
Your empty, thoughtless words
Your careless manner
When she needs hope the most
You could have saved her, had you only listened,
Thought before you said those things
You ripped up the last piece her paper mache heart
The light of a full moon
Streaming through the open window
Casts an eerie glow on her pale face
Stricken with fear
She raises a bony arm and puts the knife to her chest
It plunges through leaving a bloody trail
And her paper heart stops beating
