The Music Box
In this world
There is a box
And nobody knows
It has a lock.
The key is mine,
It’s mine to keep
Within my head
The puzzle complete.
The fools with the box
Don’t know of the key.
It sings to them
But the true song is for me.
And when the key is in
The box can’t help but click.
And when the key is in
The box can’t help but sing.
And when the key is in
It shows me a new place.
A place with a new song
The box can’t help but sing.
I hear this song
And it sounds so sweet,
But to the fools
Its song is mystery.
The song plays on so much
The box begins to glow.
As if with Midas’s touch
All of a sudden, I know.
The truth is that the box is mine;
The song it plays is so divine.
And if the world could hear this song,
All will love forever long.
The music box can’t help but play
This tune so complex, I cannot say.
I await the day
The box will stop.
And into the earth I will drop.
