I will not hide
The TV is mute, no noise at all,
But I need no sound to see them fall,
I look at Mommy, she turns away,
I ask what’s wrong, she will not say,
I ask for daddy, I call out his name,
Then I hear a sob
My Mommy couldn’t contain,
At first it was a movie, this couldn’t be real,
My mommy cries again,
This time I can feel,
The pain she cries for,
The pain she screams for,
For I see my daddy on TV,
Wearing bright yellow clothes,
And a strange mask,
Having been set an impossible task,
He pulls people out, time and time
Again,
Disappearing into the tower
Time and time
Again,
The fire spreads, down the building,
But my daddy’s pace never slows,
For in his heart he knows
He will never see my smile, or feel my mummy welcome him home,
He will not see me grow big and tall,
Even now I cry and call,
At my daddy, the hero,
To come home,
To come back to us now
But my daddy is strong,
He knows he can help,
He runs in for a final time,
And that was my last sight
Of my daddy,
Fire blazing, people screaming,
My daddy calm,
Swallowed by the fray,
And I hear my Mommy say,
Goodbye,
I echo it through my heart,
Goodbye.
It has been years now since that day,
But even now,
I face the world and say,
"My daddy is a hero; he died for us,”
And my heart swells with pride,
For I will not hide,
My daddy is watching and smiling down on me
And I want him to be proud of what he can see.

check out my work sometime?
this is really good even though you say it isnt your best work
kinda got me a little emotional while reading it :)
and thats how you know it is good
I'm completley English, and cannot imagine what it was like to be in this situation.
I was inspired by songs, and other poems.
Not my best work, but I'm happy with it. :)
