Original Taste
I’ve searched the world,
Traveled over the ocean
And across the land,
To find the smallest
Of sparks.
I’ve climbed over the mountains
And flown above the land,
And re-invented myself,
For the faintest of calls,
Of some original taste.
I’ve tested the waters,
People and faith,
Burned bridges, broke down walls,
And put them back up,
For some original taste.
I’ve wished upon stars,
And folded 100 paper cranes,
I’ve blown on dandelions
In the fields,
For some original taste.
I’ve torn up the map,
And slowly pieced it back together,
I’ve smashed the air guitar
At my own empty rock concert,
For some original flair.
I’ve rolled the dice,
Once, twice, then thrice,
I’ve gambled my luck,
And wasted it all away,
For some original spice.
I’ve fired the cannon,
And caused an uproar,
I’ve gone to the battlefields,
With nothing but my heart and soul,
For some original lure.
I’ve searched the world,
Traveled over the ocean,
And across the land,
To find the smallest
Of sparks.
For some original taste.
