One Battle Won
Mascara streaks down her face
Puffy eyes, and dripping tears
Whimpers of pain and despair
While crumpled in a heap on the floor
Razor standing above her wrist, ready
One cut, then it's all over
No more hoping to be popular
No more starving to be thin
No more beatings from her dad
No more carelessness from her drunk mom
No more loneliness
No more endless nights of tears
One swipe
Then peace
She shakes her head
Puts the razor away
Battle won
One look in her mirror
Sorrowful smile
Then she stands up, and leaves.
