Seducing Autumn
pearls dust
crinkly brown leaves
leaving them soft
and vulnerable
whispers ruffle their
existence
threatening to
tear them from their limbs
do not be afraid,
a kind whisper
so enticing,
in the heat
so seductive,
under their cool touch
one by one
they start to slide down
inviting, enchanting
come, come with us
one snap,
another,
a flurry of brown,
and then nothing,
only naked trees shiver
in the crisp air
