Ode to Black and White
Black and white (or dirty yellow, for most)
will always be “in style”
even for those
who’ve no style to speak of.
Deliciously interchangeable
customizable
distinct
their very own flavor.
Ode
to my converse
worn, graying black
and muddy yellow
that have not
failed me
and I doubt they will.
Ode
to tattered laces;
be it checkered
white
black
neon
or with logos.
Ode
to rubber toes
with black outlines
scuffed
and experienced.
To Sharpies, signatures,
new laces, knots,
rips, tears,
sand, mud,
puddles, grass stains
Ode
to a dying
pair of sneakers.
